About us

Formed as a partnership in July 1997, AGP Law LLC (formerly known as Ari Goh & Partners) is a full-service law firm, which has built up a trusted reputation in the legal industry for more than 20 years since 1997, particularly in the areas of commercial litigation, and dispute resolution.

With its incorporation to AGP Law LLC in 2019, the firm has expanded to better serve its burgeoning pool of clients, which include a substantial number of multi-national companies, listed entities, and small to medium enterprises, spanning various industries and sectors.

The firm provides a full suite of legal services to new and existing clients. We pride ourselves in being able to provide value-added solutions and excellent service levels, which are greatly valued by our substantial portfolio of clients.

Arivanantham graduated in law from the National University of Singapore in 1990 and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in April 1991. He joined the litigation department of Chor Pee & Company in 1993 and became a partner of Chor Pee & Partners in January 1997. His work covers commercial litigation, debt collection for institutional clients and general corporate work, including shareholders' agreements, joint ventures and the sale and purchase of companies. He is also a Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public.

    Successfully represented the plaintiff against an appeal by the defendant in a claim for copyright infringement.

  2. Public Prosecutor v Tay Chee Ming [2020] SGMC 1

    Represented the accused in a trial for offences under the Securities and Futures Act.

  3. Kim Seng Orchid Pte Ltd v Lim Kah Hin (trading as Yik Zhuan Orchid Garden) [2018] 3 SLR 34

    Successfully acted for Kim Seng Orchid Pte Ltd in obtaining a summary judgment that the defendant had wrongfully occupied subleased premises. The defendant appealed, but was unsuccessful.

  4. iHub Solutions Pte Ltd v Freight Links Express Logisticentre Pte Ltd [2017] SGHC 6

    Represented the defendant against the plaintiff’s claim for damages in respect of alternative premises which the plaintiff alleged it had to acquire due to the defendant’s breaches.

  5. Chan Wai Chin v Ang Shih Yi, Vanessa and Ong Kay Yong [2014] SGDC 185

    Successfully represented the plaintiff husband, where the husband filed for divorce against his wife and successfully defended the husband against the wife’s counterclaim.

  6. China Taiping Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd (formerly known as China Insurance Co (Singapore) Pte Ltd) v Teoh Cheng Leong [2012] 2 SLR 1

    Represented the defendant director of six companies in a suit concerning on-demand performance bonds provided by the plaintiffs to the Controller of Immigration and indemnities the defendant executed in consideration of the plaintiffs’ performance bonds.

    Represented the respondent Lycée Francais de Singapour in a suit concerning the sale of its leasehold interest on a piece of land which was held by the second appellant on trust for the first appellant.

    Represented the plaintiff in a suit concerning the sale of its leasehold interest on a piece of land.

    Successfully defended the plaintiffs against the defendants’ appeal of the judgment which was in favour of the plaintiffs on their claim for damages against the defendants for breach of contract arising out of the carriage by sea of the plaintiffs’ goods from Italy to Singapore.
